Haru Harbor
Play safe
How Haru Harbor keeps its chat friendly and what you can do yourself: one part for children, one for parents and carers. Also for people who do not play.

For children
Haru Harbor is a friendly village. These tips help to keep it that way.

Be kind
Say hello and thank you, and help each other. Everyone in the village should feel welcome.

Keep your secrets
Never share your real name, your address, your school or your phone number. Do not share your name in other apps either.

If something feels wrong
Someone asks you for these things, for photos or to meet? Someone makes you feel bad? Stop writing. Tell an adult you trust, and tap Report.

Reporting is good
Reporting is not telling tales. You help to keep the village safe, for you and for everyone else.
How to report, block and mute
Report
Next to every message there are three dots. Tap them, or press and hold the message, then tap Report message. Choose what happened and tap Report. In a profile there is a Report button too, and at a community Report community.
Block
Tap the three dots, then Block, and confirm with Block. You are no longer friends, and you no longer see that person in the village paper, the search or the chat. You can undo it under Settings → Account → Blocked players.
Mute
In the community chat, tap the three dots at a message, then Mute. You no longer see that person’s messages on this device. Nobody else notices.
What happens after you report
A person from our team looks at every report. The person you report does not find out that it was you.
Under Settings → Account → Notices about your account you can see whether we took action.
Talk to someone
These helplines are free and confidential. You can call them about anything that worries you. If you or someone else is in danger right now, call the emergency number.

For parents and carers
What players can write, how reporting works, and what you might talk about with your child.
What players can write
At the first start the game asks for month and year of birth and keeps only the age group, never the date. Right after this question it shows a link to this page.
- Community chat: own text from 13, checked before it is sent by a word filter and an automated moderation; a person from our team looks at every decision of the automated moderation. Before the first own message the game asks once whether the automated moderation may check the player’s texts. Without this agreement the player writes with ready-made sentences and stickers; the answer can be changed any time under Settings → Privacy. Under 13 only ready-made sentences and stickers.
- No private messages, not even between friends: players write only in the community chat.
- No pictures apart from the game’s stickers, no voice messages and no locations.
- In some countries stricter rules apply: then the game offers only ready-made sentences and stickers, or no chat.
Reporting and appeals
Every message, profile and community can be reported in the game: with the three dots or by pressing and holding, then Report. A person from our team looks at every report, and the person reported does not find out who it was. In the report window, Tell me how it turned out is on; switched off, you get no messages about that report.
Decisions about your child’s account are under Settings → Account → Notices about your account, with the reason. Each one can be appealed once with Appeal, and a person looks at it again.
The form on this website works without the game and without an account, also for parents and with a screen reader. In the game it is under Settings → Help → Report or complain online.
Blocking and muting
Blocking ends a friendship: the blocked player no longer appears for your child in the village paper, the search or the chat. Undo it under Settings → Account → Blocked players. Muting hides a player’s messages in the community chat, on that device only. Nobody is told who reported or blocked them.
Village communities
A village community has up to 30 members, shared requests and a chat. At level 7 the game suggests one; nobody is added without asking. Open communities are joined with one tap (Join), closed ones by request (Ask to join) or by an invitation from a friend, which waits for an answer: Join or Decline.
Your child can leave at any time under Members → Leave; whoever leads a community hands the lead over first. Talk about which community to join, and report an unsuitable name or description with Report community.
If the age group is wrong
The age group can only be changed through our support, so that children cannot get around the protections. If it is wrong, tell us with the form (Wrong age group) or at [email protected], with the player ID from Settings → Account.
Report or complain on the web
For parents, for people without an account and with a screen reader. Illegal content can be reported anonymously.
